About
For nearly 15 years, Sourav Bhowmick has been trusted by leaders at the highest levels of business and government to solve their most difficult problems.
Sourav most recently served as a senior official at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. A presidential appointee, he joined in 2021 as Deputy Executive Secretary, where he managed the domestic policy development process for Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Following the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Sourav served as Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff for IRA Implementation. He built and led a 22-person organization to catalyze a bipartisan U.S. clean energy transition.
Prior to government, Sourav spent almost a decade in the private sector. He was a management consultant in Deloitte Consulting’s strategy & operations group, helping cross-sector clients achieve ambitious growth targets. He began his career as a corporate communications strategist at Brunswick Group, specializing in M&A and private equity.
Sourav holds an MBA in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds a BA in Political Science from Northwestern University. He was elected as a term member on the Council on Foreign Relations in 2024.
