Most recently, he led the U.S. & North America investor services practice at Global Counsel, advising multinational corporations and 8 of the 10 largest global private equity and infrastructure investors on regulatory risk, geopolitical exposure, and policy-driven value creation.

Previously, Sourav was a presidentially appointed official at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. As Senior Advisor to the Deputy Secretary, he led Treasury’s implementation strategy for the Inflation Reduction Act and advised senior leadership on energy, industrial, and domestic economic policy. As Deputy Executive Secretary to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, he managed the Department’s domestic policy portfolio, coordinating decision-making at the highest levels of government.

 

Prior to public service, Sourav spent nearly a decade in the private sector. He was a management consultant in Deloitte Consulting’s strategy & operations group, advising cross-sector clients on growth strategy and enterprise transformation. He began his career in corproate affairs, where at Brunswick Group he advised on M&A and private equity mandates totaling $300 billion in transaction value.

Sourav holds an MBA in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Political Science from Northwestern University. He was elected a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations in 2024.
